WHAT HAPPENED?
Arsenal sold Danish forward Mika Biereth to Sturm Graz for £4 million in the summer after a successful loan stint in the second half of last season. Now, claims Monaco have agreed to pay £10.8m, with a further £1.75m in add-ons, for the 21-year-old. The report adds the Gunners have a 'significant' sell-on clause in this transfer.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
For a period of time, Arsenal have been among the biggest net spenders in the Premier League. The Gunners have often spent big on players but brought in far smaller sums on player exits. That has changed, somewhat, in recent years with the big-money moves of Emile Smith Rowe, Folarin Balogun and Eddie Nketiah. And smart sell-on clauses such as the Biereth one are shrewd moves as well.
