Liverpool have held talks with Fulham over a possible deal to sign Antonee Robinson to help solve their left-back woes in the January transfer window.

WHAT HAPPENED?
The Reds have been in touch with the Craven Cottage side and reports they are hopeful of coming to an agreement when the transfer period begins as the United States international has indicated that he is open to joining the Premier League team.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Liverpool are in dire need of a new left-back as Andy Robertson has been out of action with a shoulder injury since October. Coach Jurgen Klopp was dealt a further blow when Kostas Tsimikas suffered a broken collarbone in the recent 1-1 draw with Arsenal, leaving him without a designated left-back.

DID YOU KNOW?
Klopp called on Joe Gomez to fill in for Tsimikas after the latter went off injured and the 26-year-old was trusted to start in the 2-0 win against Burnley on Boxing Day, but the Anfield club will need to bring in another option as soon as possible.

WHAT NEXT FOR LIVERPOOL?
The Reds will still be without a natural left-back when they take to the field in their next game – against Newcastle on January 1. It is unclear if they will be able to negotiate a deal for Robinson before they meet Arsenal in the FA Cup on January 7.
